La Vida guide How much does a photo booth rental cost in Los Angeles?

A plain-spoken look at what you will actually pay, using our published prices rather than a vague range.

The short answer

Our Beverly Booth, the DSLR studio booth with instant prints, is $550 for two hours, $700 for three and $850 for four. Our Selfie Booth, the iPad booth that sends GIFs and photos straight to phones, is $290 for two hours, $390 for three and $490 for four. Those numbers are public on our packages page and they are the same numbers we put in a quote.

Every booking at either tier includes an on-site attendant, a custom template with your names, date and colours, curated props, setup and breakdown, and digital files delivered within 24 to 48 hours. The Beverly also includes unlimited prints. There is no separate line for any of that.

What the Los Angeles market looks like

As a general market range, most Los Angeles photo booth rentals run roughly $400 to $1,200 for an evening, depending on the type of booth, the hours and what is bundled in. iPad-style booths sit at the lower end, DSLR booths with prints and an attendant sit in the middle, and 360 or mirror booths with elaborate setups push towards the top.

That range is only useful if you know what is inside it. Two quotes that both say $700 can describe very different nights, one with prints and an attendant and one where you are left alone with a tablet. The rest of this guide is about reading past the headline figure.

What drives the price up or down

Hours are the biggest lever. Each additional hour on either booth is $150, so stretching a three-hour package to four costs less than booking a second vendor for the late crowd. The second lever is the booth itself, since a DSLR with studio lighting and a printer simply costs more to own and run than an iPad on a stand.

After that come the extras you choose. A custom backdrop starts at $180 and needs six to eight weeks of lead time. Premium 4x6 prints are $80, the Glam Experience is $75, the Scrapbook and Guest Book is $50, a second template is $30 and the prop table is $15. None of these are required, and plenty of events book only the base package.

Travel, deposits and cancellations

Travel is free within 30 miles of Burbank, which covers most of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Beyond that we write a distance-based travel fee into the quote so you see it before you commit, rather than discovering it on the final invoice.

A 50 percent deposit holds your date. If you cancel 30 or more days out, the deposit is refunded in full. Inside 30 days the deposit is not lost; it applies to a future date instead. We think that is a fair way to handle a plan that shifts.

Corporate and brand pricing

Our Brand Activation package is $850 for three hours and is built for launches, pop-ups and activations where the strip and the start screen carry a logo. It is the same booth and attendant, with the template work pointed at a brand rather than a couple.

If you are comparing agency-style quotes, keep in mind that a branded booth should still arrive with a person who runs it, prints that match the brand palette and files delivered quickly afterwards. Ask for those three things in writing.

How to compare quotes fairly

Line the quotes up by the same hours and ask each company what is included at that figure. Prints, attendant, template, props and digital delivery are the five items that most often appear as surprise add-ons elsewhere. If a quote does not mention them, assume they cost extra until told otherwise.

Then look at the practical details: whether the company is insured, how far the travel is free, when the deposit is refundable and how quickly the photos arrive. A cheaper booth that delivers photos three weeks later is not the bargain it looks like on the day you book.

Questions, answered

Good to Know

Is the three-hour Beverly Booth really the most popular package?

Yes. At $700 it covers the bulk of a reception or quince party once dinner is done, and it is the tier we see chosen most often.

Do you charge extra for prints on the Beverly Booth?

No. Unlimited prints are included in every Beverly booking. Premium 4x6 prints are an optional $80 upgrade if you want a larger format.

Are there hidden fees on the day?

No. Any travel fee beyond 30 miles of Burbank is written into the quote in advance, and add-ons are only billed if you chose them.

Can I pay the balance after the event?

The 50 percent deposit holds the date and the balance is settled before the event, so nothing is owed on the night itself.
